We could not possibly come up with only five incredible things to do on a Namibia safari, but here it goes…
- Dune 45
Dune 45 is a star dune in the Sossusvlei area of the Namib Desert in Namibia. Its name comes from the fact that it is at the 45th kilometre of the road that connects the Sesriem gate and Sossusvlei. Standing over 170 m,[1] it is composed of 5-million-year-old sand that is detritus accumulated by the Orange River from the Kalahari Desert. Because it is near the road, the dune is often photographed, particularly early and late in the day when one side of the dune is in shadow. It is often climbed by visitors to Sossusvlei. From the top of the dune, you can watch the most amazing sunrise you have ever seen.
- Quadbiking in Swakopmund
Take your time to visit Swakopmund for a thrilling quad biking joy ride through the rolling curves of the Namib desert. There are tons of enjoyable activities such as Sandboarding, paragliding, scenic flights.
- Etosha National Park
Being one of Southern Africa’s most popular wildlife parks, Etosha National Park caters to all kinds of safari lovers. Etosha National Park is one of the last places in the world where the endangered species of the black rhino can still be seen!. You will experience wildlife, birdlife, safari games offering 360-degree views of the wilderness. Etosha is nothing but the best of Namibia’s natural beauty.
- Hot air balloon ride over Sossusvlei
The view from the top? Simply amazing. An eagle’s eye view of the massive desert and both its rocky and sandy character puts Sossusvlei into perspective. Namibia holidays just aren’t the same without an exploration of Sossusvlei.
